It's a sad song / but we sing it anyway

Finally finished my applications to grad school about a week ago, and I've heard back from 3 of 4.  Of course the one I haven't heard back from yet is the one that is top of my list and the one I applied to back in September.  Why is it taking them two months to respond? 😭
